On May 14, 2026, according to the latest ESI data released by Clarivate Analytics, the discipline of Environment and Ecology at Xiamen University entered the top 0.1% of ESI global rankings for the first time, marking a major breakthrough in the development of this discipline. To date, Xiamen University has 19 disciplines ranked among the top 1% of ESI global rankings, among which four disciplines (Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, and Environment and Ecology) are placed in the top 0.1% of the ESI global rankings.
